About This Scholarship

The UCI Esports Varsity Scholarship is awarded to student-athletes recruited to compete on UCI's nationally recognized varsity esports teams. UC Irvine pioneered varsity esports at the UC system and continues to offer one of the most competitive scholarship packages in collegiate gaming. Recipients compete in NACE Starleague, Big West Esports, and other national circuits.

Eligibility

Incoming and current UC Irvine students who have been selected to varsity esports rosters. Open to all majors. Both in-state and out-of-state students are eligible.

3.0+ GPA

Minimum required

League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Valorant, Rocket League

Requirements

Enrollment as a full-time UC Irvine student

Tryout and roster selection by UCI Esports coaching staff

Minimum 3.0 GPA requirement

Participation in all scheduled practices and competitions
