Overview
Wars of Esports is an independent informational directory. All data in the directory is compiled from publicly available sources. We do not claim to have exclusive data relationships, official partnerships, or endorsements from any institution, organization, game publisher, or governing body unless explicitly stated.
Our methodology prioritizes primary sources — official .edu domains and institutional websites — over secondary aggregators. Where primary source data is unavailable, we note the limitation and display "Information not publicly available."
Primary Data Sources
Official College & University Websites
Enrollment figures, tuition rates, founding dates, and institutional accreditation are sourced from official .edu domains and institutional fact sheets. Links to official esports program pages are verified at the time of listing.
Official Esports Program Pages
Program descriptions, coaching staff, arena details, competitive titles, and NACE membership status are sourced from official program websites and social media accounts operated by the institution.
Public Scholarship Announcements
Scholarship names, award amounts, eligibility requirements, GPA minimums, and application URLs are sourced from publicly announced scholarship programs on official institutional or organizational websites.
Game Publishers & Tournament Organizers
Competitive overview information for each game is sourced from official publisher esports pages, league websites (e.g., Collegiate Rocket League, College League of Legends), and NACE/Tespa documentation.
NACE Member Registry
NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) membership status is sourced from publicly available NACE member listings. NACE membership is noted as a factual attribute and does not constitute an editorial endorsement.
What We Do Not Do
We do not independently verify that scholarship application URLs are currently live or accepting applications.
We do not independently verify coaching staff identities beyond publicly documented names.
We do not confirm real-time scholarship availability, deadlines, or award amounts.
We do not imply partnerships, endorsements, or affiliations with any institution or organization.
We do not use proprietary data feeds or exclusive institutional data agreements.
We do not rank programs based on paid placement or commercial relationships.
Update Methodology
Listings are reviewed periodically and updated when corrections are submitted, when we identify outdated information during routine review, or when major changes are announced publicly (e.g., program closures, scholarship suspensions).
Each college and scholarship listing displays a "Last Updated" date. This reflects the date the database record was most recently reviewed or modified — not necessarily the date the underlying institution's information changed.
